A Socotra trip runs more smoothly when arrival is planned as one connected journey. This is not a place to book a hotel and improvise after landing: flights, permits and ground transport all need to align with the camp season and your itinerary.
Plan around Socotra’s travel season
The camp operates from the last Thursday of September to the first Thursday of May. The current season runs from 24 September 2026 to 6 May 2027. During the monsoon months in between, flights stop and the camp closes.
Choose the camp season before looking at individual flights. A flight may appear available outside the season, but that does not mean the island can host your trip.
Current routes to Socotra
Yemenia currently operates the round trip between Jeddah and Socotra. The alternative is via Cairo and Aden. The round-trip flight to Socotra costs about USD 980 and varies by airline and season.
Flight schedules are the part of the plan most likely to change. Before tickets are issued, we check the practical connection from your departure city and book through the airline's official channel.
Permit, visa and airport pickup
Socotra requires a permit arranged in advance through a licensed local operator. We prepare the paperwork; you provide your passport details and photo. The visa fee is currently USD 170 per person.
Our local arrangements begin at Socotra Airport, where a guide and vehicle meet your flight. You continue directly to camp or to the first stop on your route, with no need to arrange local transport after landing.
What to tell us first
Tell us your departure city, preferred dates and group size, and whether you are considering a small-group tour, photography expedition or private journey. That is enough for us to check the route and outline your arrival.
Do not book the flight to Socotra until both the trip dates and permit arrangements have been confirmed.
